James E. Andrews
Member, Board of Directors
James E. Andrews of Suffolk, Va., joined Waterside Capital's Board of Directors in 1993. Before retiring in 2003, he served as President/CEO and majority owner of Anzell Automotive, Inc. t/a Big Al’s Mufflers & Brakes, Big Al’s Franchising, Inc., Andrews & Etzell, Inc. James has started, ran and sold at least eight businesses in 30 years. He also serves on the TowneBank Portsmouth Executive Committee Board. He is the former chairman of the Norfolk Board of Cenit Bank.


Whiting Chisman

Whiting Chisman of Hampton, Va., joined Waterside Capital's Board of Directors in 1994. His career included President of Chisman Co., President of Dare Investment Company, and founding director and Chairman of First Peninsula Bank until it merged with First American Bank (now part of Wachovia).

Whiting serves on the boards of Virginia Company Bank, James River Country Club, Greater Peninsula NOW, and the Achievable Dream Foundation.

His past boards include Commerce Bank (now part of BB&T), Branch Banking and Trust Company of Virginia (BB&T’s Virginia-chartered subsidiary bank), and Harbor Bank (now part of Towne Bank).

Whiting served as Chairman of the Peninsula Alliance for Economic Development, Commissioner of the Peninsula Ports Authority, Chairman of Thomas Nelson Community College Foundation, Chairman of City of Hampton Industrial Development Authority, and President of the Virginia Air and Space Center Foundation. He was also a founding director of the Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia.

Eric L. Fox of Virginia Beach, Va., joined Waterside Capital's Board of Directors in 1993. He is First Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager in the UBS Financial Services, Inc. Portfolio Management Program. Eric also serves on the board of the United Way Foundation (chair), ODU Research Foundation (chair), Virginia Beach Vision, Harbor Club, and Town Point Club. He is a former board member of the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, Urban League, and Tidewater Community College Foundation.

Kenny Lindauer

Kenny Lindauer of Virginia Beach, Va., joined Waterside Capital's Board of Directors in 2007. He founded Bayshore Beverage Inc. in 1994 and serves as its president.

Peter M. Meredith, Jr., P.E.
Member, Board of Directors

Peter M. Meredith of Norfolk, Va., joined Waterside Capital's Board of Directors in 1993. He is the Chairman and CEO of Meredith Construction Company, Inc., and Managing Partner of Meredith Capital Management (developers, owners and operators of multi-family housing units, shopping centers, office buildings, mini storage units, and Country Inn Hotels). Peter also serves on the Heritage Bank & Trust board, and the Heritage Bancshares, Inc. board (chairman). His civic boards include Chrysler Museum of Art, U.S.S. Wisconsin Foundation, General Douglas MacArthur Foundation, VMI Foundation, Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Crispus Attucks Cultural Center, and the WHRO Foundation.

Juan M. Montero II, M.D.

Juan M. Montero II, M.D., of Chesapeake, Va., joined Waterside Capital's Board of Directors in 1995. He recently retired from a 35-year career as a general and thoracic surgeon. He also serves on the Townebank Corporate & Commercial Boards, Norfolk Sister City Association, Virginia Board of Medicine, Virginia Board of Health Professions, Board of Trustees ODU Educational Foundation, and Board of Directors for the General Douglas MacArthur Foundation.
